Pleiger rotary actuators were specially developed for the operation of butterfly valves and ball valves. Pleiger type STK rotary actuators are available in double- and single-acting versions. The Pleiger STK rotary actuators are designed for use anywhere, including submerged or in hazardous areas. In case of an emergency, all actuators can be operated with a hand pump. Pleiger hydraulic actuators deliver a continuous output torque across the full 90° swivel angle.

Hydraulic linear actuators were specially developed for the operation of globe valves. Pleiger type PVK linear actuators are available in double- and single-acting versions (fail-safe by spring return). They are designed to be used anywhere.

PLEIGER Control Module System (PCM)

The PLEIGER Control Module System (PCM) is a system of various control and I/O modules. The PCM system controls and monitors hydraulic actuators, pumps, tank level sensors, etc. The compact modules are ideally suited for the design of compact control cabinets.

Continuous position indication

The continuous position control and indication from PLEIGER is based on a standardized volumetric flow meter in combination with the new PLEIGER CCM module.

  • A digital flow meter measures the flowing hydraulic oil in both flow directions. The generated
    signal is captured by the CCM.
  • A special self-calibration function enables the CCM to control any desired actuator or its position – completely independent of its size, operating pressure, or line parameters.
  • The function of the control system is independent of dilation, oil viscosity, and temperature.
  • Furthermore, the CCM detects faulty or blocked actuators as well as leaks in the hydraulic line and indicates these faults.
  • In addition to the remote-controlled operating mode, the module can also be controlled manually on site using switches
    . The current position is shown on a two-digit display.
  • The CCM can be directly connected to pushbuttons, LEDs, and analog PLC inputs.
  • As part of the PCM system, the CCM module is very easy to link with Profibus DP or Modbus RTU via the Bus Interface Module (BI).

Open/Close position indication

PLEIGER end position controls are independent of actuator size, pipe length and pipe diameter, viscosity, dilation, and compressibility. The OPEN/CLOSE indication is hydraulically detected directly in the actuator and shows the actual valve position.

The proven PLEIGER OPEN/CLOSE end position indication system is based on a specific bypass flow in combination with the working pressure.

If the valve is blocked between the end positions, a low flow is maintained through a bypass inside the PLEIGER rotary actuator. If the end position is not reached, the flow switch "Q" is not closed.

The bypass in the actuator is hermetically sealed when the end position is fully reached. In this case, the indication is activated by the contacts in the flow switch "Q" and the corresponding pressure switches "S1" and "S2".
